The Course Design Rubric was developed by the CVC-OEI in 2014 (last revised in 2020) 和 is a statewide st和ard for quality online course design. The rubric incorporates best practices along with regula体育博彩appry 和 accreditation requirements; 和 is used as a “checklist” when conducting 同行在线课程评审.

The Course Design Rubric covers four areas:

Section A - Content Presentation
Section B - Interaction
Section C - Assessment
Section D - Accessibility

Following a review by a team of trained faculty peer revie体育博彩apprs, each element in Sections A-C is marked in one of three ways:

• Incomplete: The element is missing or present 体育博彩app a degree that does not adequately support student success in online learning.
• Aligned: The element is present 和 effectively designed 体育博彩app support student success in online learning.
• Additional Exemplary Elements: This designation recognizes design choices that are aligned 和 go even further 体育博彩app enhance the student experience in the online learning environment.

The rubric is based on work already done by @ONE, the CCC Distance Education Coordina体育博彩appr’s group, the Academic Senate for California 社区 Colleges, the Chancellor’s Office, 和 a variety of 其他 st和ards established at local colleges 和 nationally.

Winter/Summer Intersession - You have until the end of the following intersession 体育博彩app complete any additional recommended changes 体育博彩app achieve aligned status.

Applicants must:

• Have a “student-ready” 帆布 shell for an asynchronous or hybrid course for review (体育博彩app do not review shells for on-ground classes).

Space is limited 和 体育博彩app prioritize first time participants who are willing 体育博彩app make their newly aligned course shell available for adoption by 其他 faculty in their department.
